History
The Greater Four Corners Action Coalition’s(GFCAC) work was born out of a community’s determination to reclaim and direct the narrative of our collective future. Initially founded in 1991 as the Four Corners Public Safety Action Plan in response to rising violence and crime activity, GFCAC used a community-organizing and intersectional approach; establishing neighborhood associations, working with the City of Boston, law enforcement, local youth and the faith community, to stabilize our neighborhood. Over the course of three decades, GFCAC has spearheaded a profound community transformation. This foundational work led us to expand our scope. Today, we lead initiatives for housing and transit justice, economic development, ecological stewardship, and stronger community bonds through cultural programming. Our mission is to employ every available resource to stabilize and enhance the livability of the Four Corners community by empowering neighborhood residents and stakeholders to take action and ensure that our voice is heard, both locally and regionally.

Who we are
The Greater Four Corners Action Coalition is dedicated to changing the social climate of its neighborhoods through collaborative efforts which encourage public safety and community develop-ment. The organization has also taken a lead on issues relating to environmental justice to raise the community's awareness of our global responsibility.
Some of our accomplishments include:

Initiated successful campaign to open new stops along the Fairmount Commuter Rail line

Facilitated community processes that led to the creation/ renovation of over 400 housing units

Established several neighborhood associations and crime watches

Helped establish Fairmont Greenway

Co-created project to move homes out of the foreclosure process

Produced the 1st Comprehensive Plan of Development for the Greater Four
Corners Area
